Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Risal E A (“we”, “us”), the developer of the Breathify mobile application (the “App”), handles information when you use the App. Breathify is designed to be private by default: it requires no user registration or sign-in, operates without custom backend servers, and keeps your mindful breathing history on your device.
1. Data stored only on your device
The following information is created through your use of Breathify and is stored locally on your device:
- Session logs & progress: Completed breathing sessions, session durations, chosen breathing patterns (e.g., Box Breathing, 4-7-8, Calm, Energy, Focus), streak records, and completion counts;
- App preferences: Audio chime volume, ambient sound settings, haptic feedback toggles, and minute picker defaults.
Deleting the App removes this local data from your device. If you use Apple iCloud Backup, copies may be included in your device backup according to your Apple Account settings and Apple’s terms.
2. Data processed by service providers
To distribute, monetize, and maintain the App, we rely on standard Apple platform services. We do not operate custom backend servers.
a. App Distribution & In-App Purchases — Apple Inc.
The App is downloaded via the Apple App Store. Any optional in-app purchases or subscriptions are processed directly by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or receive your credit card or billing payment details. For more information, review Apple’s Privacy Policy.
b. App Update Checks — Apple iTunes Search API
To notify you when a newer version of Breathify is available on the App Store, the App makes an anonymous HTTP lookup to Apple’s public iTunes Search API using your device’s installed bundle version. This lookup transmits no personal identifiers or user credentials.

3. What we do not collect or do
- We do not create or require user accounts or logins.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contact lists, or location data.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data.
- We do not display third-party advertisements or use ad-tracking frameworks.
- We do not perform automated decision-making or behavioral profiling.
4. Notifications, audio & haptics
If you enable daily mindfulness reminders, Breathify schedules local notifications directly on your device. No remote push notification service is used, and reminder times stay on your device. Audio chimes and haptic engine feedback are executed locally using system iOS frameworks.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, processing is based on: performance of a contract (providing the App and optional subscriptions you request) and legitimate interests (maintaining App compatibility and delivery via standard platform services).
6. Data retention and deletion
Your local breathing session logs and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. You can reset or clear your session history within the App settings at any time.
7. Security
Because your session data is stored locally on your device, exposure risk is minimized. Data transmitted to Apple platform endpoints for purchases or version checks uses standard encrypted connections (TLS).
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA), you may have rights to access, rectify, or delete personal data. Because we do not store account records or personal identifiers on custom servers, most data remains under your direct control on your device. 9. Children’s privacy
Breathify is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
10. International transfers
Platform services provided by Apple Inc. may process data internationally in accordance with Apple’s standard data protection policies and adequacy mechanisms.
11. Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of Breathify signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
